Despite the old adage, we see the forest, not the trees. In the everyday
world, we move past them without much thought. But when a wedge
of bark is photographed, repeated, and turned, it becomes a compelling
portrait of color, texture, and pattern. Spun into a circle, what once
seemed commonplace reveals a unique record of growth, weather, and scars—an unexpectedly beautiful form of tree ring.
